Congregation Etz Chaim hosts a stream of activities around the year. Holiday events, youth events, and adult events take place regularly, providing our congregants with a sense of community, spirituality and fun!
Here is a sampling of our recent events:
Seven of the shul’s members prepared pots of chulent that were served at the shul’s Kiddush following davening. A panel of judges commented on the chulents and named a winner.
MEMBERS’ FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER
Members of the shul gathered for a potluck Friday night dinner. The Rav presented a quiz game and D’var Torah.
YOUNG COUPLES’ SHABBAT
Recently married couples joined at the shul on Friday night for a potluck dinner. They were then introduced during the Shabbat Kiddush, and hosted for lunch by member families.
LAG B’OMER BONFIRE
Every Lag B’omer, community members gather at a local field for a communal bonfire and singing kumzitz.
INDEPENDENCEDAY (Yom HaAtzmaut)
Members met at shul for a festive Tefillah, followed by a meal and games.
On this holiday, Shalom, visited the shul to speak about Ethiopian culture and the dangers of discrimination. Ethiopian food was served.
Two of the shul’s members, Aryeh Green and David Lange, shared their expertise about fighting media bias against Israel.
